Janae came to her senior portrait session excited and ready to enjoy the beautiful fall day. We went for an outdoorsy theme and Janae rocked it with four different outfits and a lovely smile.

Kyle cared a great deal about his senior pictures and wanted a modern style that would showcase his personality. During our wardrobe consultation prior to the shoot, I could tell already that we’d have a great time.

If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a nicer camera, check out this article I wrote for Shopobot. Since I use Nikon photography equipment, I review 3 camera and lens setups for beginner, enthusiast/intermediate, and advanced level photographers.

All I can say about her portrait session is, “Incredible!” Claudia’s camera presence, sense of style, and warm personality came together beautifully. We worked together well and she had a lot of fun modeling. Upon finishing in the early evening she said, “That was exactly what I was looking for.” I love hearing that!

A couple months ago, I did an interview for Smartpress in which I answered questions about getting started in the photography business. Today they released a graphic showcasing the common threads between the 20 professional photographers interviewed.

Congratulations to Alaina for capturing the crown as Miss Lane County! She will compete for the title of Miss Oregon this fall, with the winner advancing to the Miss USA pageant.

Last Friday, I had the honor of teaming with other local photographers to help photograph the memorial proceedings for fallen Eugene police officer Chris Kilcullen. While documentary photography differs from my usual work, I was happy to assist the family in any way possible.
